ReGen Biologics Meniscus Data Featured in Scientific Meetings

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ -- January 30, 2006 -- Data gleaned from the largest human clinical trial on meniscus injuries is being discussed at several prominent scientific meetings. Commenting on the research, Gerald E. Bisbee, Jr., Ph.D., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ReGen Biologics said, "Acceptance of the data for inclusion in poster and podium presentations demonstrates the relevance of these topics to ongoing meniscus research and its importance to the overall management of meniscus injury."

Data from ReGen's clinical research were recently the subject of two poster presentations at the Osteoarthritis Research Society International World Congress in Boston during December 2005.

One poster presented information on the validity, reliability, and responsiveness of the Tegner Activity Scale and Tegner Index to assess meniscus injuries of the knee. The other poster showed results of tissue gain after placement of the company's collagen scaffold following partial meniscectomy as assessed through second look arthroscopy.

Additional discussions were also held at the International Cartilage Repair Society earlier this month in San Diego. In addition to the tissue gain and Tegner Index data outlined above, a third presentation focused on the psychometric properties of the Lysholm knee score and Tegner activity scale for meniscus injuries of the knee.

Related data have been submitted and accepted for several other scientific meetings to be held throughout 2006, including podium presentations at the March 2006 American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the May 2006 Arthroscopy Association of North America meeting and a poster presentation at the June 2006 American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. In addition, data from clinical studies are slated to be published in a text book and at least one medical journal.
